HRN All-3rd Region Team

  • HRN ALL-3RD REGION TEAM
Brought to you by Robin’s Resale & Boutique
SP Paige Hill Daviess Co.
No pitcher in the 3rd Region has more big innings against Top 25 (in the state) competition than Lady Panther ace Paige Hill. Her ability to work her way out of bad situations with runners in scoring position is uncanny.
C Macey Hale Muhlenberg
The 2K16 HRN MVP will be behind the plate for our All-Region team. Macey has one of the purest swings you’ll see at the HS level. She can take any pitch out of the park with her bat speed & vision. Her work behind the plate is outstanding as well, as she has caught the majority of Madison Simms’ region leading 1.18 era work. Macey will continue her softball career at Murray State.
1B. Maddie Bowlds Daviess Co.
Maddie Bowlds has played at an All-Region level since she stepped on the field for DC.Her knack for big hits, and great glove work earns her the spot at 1B. The D1 commit will play her college softball at WKU.
2B Madison Simms Muhlenberg
A multi-time Sunshine Garden Center Mustang of the Week winner, Madison Simms gets it done at the plate, in the field, and on the mound (Region leading 1.18 era in 71 ip)
SS Lauren Johnson Daviess Co.
HRN 2K16 Player of the Year Lauren Johnson (.568 average 9HR 79RBI in 2K16) continued her POY level play in 2K17. She has the power to go yard to left, right, or center field. She also has the speed to turn a double into an inside the park HR. Add in elite level defense, and this is an easy decision at short. Oh, she also hit 2 HRs in the 9th District title game to help DC defeat Owensboro Catholic (6-5.) Lauren will continue her softball career at the University of Kentucky.
3B Haley Carter Owensboro Catholic
For a newcomer to a team, the way to earn the respect of your teammates is to put your head down, and give em 100%. Haley Carter personifies just that. Never as evident as during the 9th District opening round game vs Apollo when she dove head first into gravel (twice on back-to-back plays) trying to chase down a foul ball on consecutive plays. A huge contributor to the Lady Aces reclaiming a spot in the 3rd Region tournament.
LF Lexi Newcom Apollo
Lexi Newcom made quite the impact in her return to the E-Gals. Our 2K16 MVP runner-up had another MVP caliber season in 2K17 leading the 3rd Region (10th in the state) in HRs with 10, and 16th in KHSAA for slugging percentage (1.000) The best power hitter in the region, and arguably the state. Keep in mind she put up her 10 HRs while being pitched around virtually every at bat, rarely seeing good pitches to swing at.
Lexi will continue her softball career at Oakland City University.
RF Shelby Phelps Daviess Co.
Great range, and arm strength from the outfield to make the quick throw to 1st for outfield ground outs. Dangerous hitter at the plate that seems to pick her game up to a new level in big spots, vs top level opponents.
CF Hayden Pulliam Apollo
Not to be outdone by fellow E-Gal outfield mate (Lexi Newcom) Hayden checks in 2nd in the 3rd Region (19th in the state) with 8 HRs. She also ranks 15th in KHSAA for runs scored with 47. Surprising power at the plate to go along with great speed & defensive coverage in the outfield.
DH Alexa Foster Owensboro Catholic
One of the leaders of the Lady Aces. Alexa is a multiple time St.Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Books & Gifts Player of the Week. One of the toughest outs in the state. Great at fighting off pitches with 2 strikes until she gets a pitch she likes. Very few players have seen The competition level (espc vs opposing pitchers) as Alexa has with Catholic softball’s insane schedule. That’s why Alexa Foster is our DH.
RP Erika Lambert Ohio Co.
This 2K17 Cy Yung nominee led the Lady Eagles to a school record 19 wins from the mound, and at the plate. A strikeout pitcher who can shut a team down on the mound, then go 4-4 with HR & 6 RBI at the plate. Erika leads the 3rd Region in wins with 15.
RP Lauren Willett Owensboro Catholic
This Lady Ace, ace brought the state power Catholic Lady Aces back to the Region tournament for the 1st time since 2014. A BIG GAME pitcher that faced top level competition thanks to Catholic’s insanely difficult schedule.
RP Payton Blades Apollo
1 of the most complete players in the Region. Payton can shutdown top level competition on the mound. As she sits 2nd in the 3rd Region & 18th in KHSAA for ERA at 1.76 in 91.1 IP. She can play some of the best defense in the state at 3rd base. And to top it all off she’s a standout at the plate as well.
RP Claire Westerfield Hancock Co.
Claire has had 2 of the most dominant performances of the 2K17 softball season. Not only did she throw a perfect game, she followed that perfect game up with ANOTHER PERFECT GAME. Her arm has kept Hancock Co. a Top 5 softball team in the 3rd Region all year.
CP Haley John Apollo
One of the most overpowering pitchers you will see at the HS level. Haley is our closing pitcher for just that reason. She is also a phenomenal power hitter at the plate, ranking 2nd in the 3rd Region and 19th in KHSAA with 8 HRs.
Coach George Randolph Owensboro Catholic
Coach Randolph is a legend level for coaching. Much like Bob Mantooth on the baseball side, Coach Randolph could be coach of the year, every year. He’s in the debate for top coach in the state, or even top coach in the entire country with his past state title, region title, & district title success. In 2K17 George Randolph led his Lady Aces back to a birth in the 3rd Region tournament coming out of the 1st round elimination game vs Top 25 in the state Apollo.
